FAQ
What do we do?
We (volunteers) help Associazione ALA with managing the Hostel in Roccantica, the library in Casperia and the two refugees, Trio and Cognolo. We do work like youth animation, manual work and adminastritve support/social media managment.
how/where do we live?
While we mainly work in Roccantica, our house/accommodation is located in Poggio catino. Just 10 minute bus drive from one place to another!
is it difficult to live in rural area?
We would say 50/50, while some parts like managing transport and getting around can be challenging, most of the time living in a rural area is an amazing time! Sometimes the thought of a village sounds lonely and not fun, its quite the opposite. Since Italians are very welcoming and warm people, its not difficult to make friends and connections. Poggio Catino is a quite small village which makes it so that everyone knows each other and it never gets lonely!
IS IT important to know italian?
All though it can be difficult to live in a rural area without knowing Italian, it's not impossible. All though, knowing Italian is a huge advantage, It's not the only way to survive.
